Our church's beliefs
The following statements are not comprehensive, but highlight our understanding of Biblical themes God has called us to embrace:
God’s goodness
We believe that God is good—ALL THE TIME! We believe that all good comes from God and that God alone is worthy of glory. (Matthew 19:26; James 1:17; 3 John 1:11)
God’s grace
We believe that God is full of mercy, grace, love and forgiveness and that God calls us as followers to major in being merciful, gracious, loving and forgiving to others. (Psalms 145:8-9; Matthew 5:7 & 6:14)
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word and contains a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled authority for our lives. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12-14; Matthew 28:18)
The Trinity
We believe in the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit - 3 in 1), that God is sovereign and all-powerful, and that Jesus is fully God and fully man. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Jesus
We believe in the virgin birth and perfect life, death and resurrection of Jesus, that He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father from where He will come to judge the living and the dead. (Matthew 1:20; 1 Peter 3:18-22; 2 Corinthians 5:10)
Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift of God by grace received by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9) and not by the works of the law, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death (old covenant law). (Romans 8:2)
Holy Spirit
We believe in the ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit, in baptism by immersion and the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and in one Spirit-unified church, Christ's bride, whom He has saved and will receive at His second coming into life everlasting. (1 Corinthians 14:1-5, 15:51-55; John 17:21; 2 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
Living Jesus’ ministry
We believe we are called to follow Jesus and live out all that the church of the book of Acts was empowered to be, and to move beyond this to the greater things Jesus empowers His bride to be in the last days. (John 14:12)
Communion
We believe in the power of His broken body and its anointing passed on to us as often as we partake of the communion bread in faith. (1 Corinthians 11:23-24; John 6:53-56). We believe in the sacrifice of His blood and in the full cup of His blessings poured out on us in all circumstances as we drink His communion cup in faith. (1 Corinthians 10:16-17; John 6:53-56)
Godly behavior
We believe that we are saved by the blood of Jesus for our sins and that our life should be lived in gratitude to God by honoring Him with our words, actions, and relationships. We strive to live by the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We believe the Bible defines marriage to be between a man and a woman. (John 3:16; Galatians 5:22-23; Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4-5; Ephesians 5:31-32)

Concerns about false prophets
Graceway Community Church is dedicated to worshiping the God of the Bible. Unfortunately, several prominent false prophets have corrupted the gospel for their followers, many of them unknowingly following fraudulent additions to the Bible. These include Joseph Smith, Ellen White, and Charles Taze Russell. In a spirit of goodwill, we lovingly call on the followers and churches of these false prophets to set aside those teachings and move forward as a Protestant denomination only promoting the God of the Bible and to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
For those who wish to examine concerns about the ministry of Joseph Smith, please see the CES Letter.
